As part of #ClubsOpenDoors2018 we open our doors next Wednesday 26th September.
Challenge for our young players – Bring a Friend!
The Clubhouse Development Board would like the feedback from members to provide some insight as to what members would like from the new facility.
We would appreciate it if you could take 2 minutes to complete this Survey.
Thank you for taking the time to complete.
The first term focus from the Development team was aimed at the growth of playing numbers in players and team for the local Academies. With Ardrossan and Largs Academy competing in the Ayrshire Tier 4 Conference this meant they were playing games at S1, S2 and U16 age groups with scheduled midweek fixtures each week. Auchenharvie became the new Cashback School of Rugby for the next 3 years and initial uptake has been pretty good with current numbers up at round 20 signed up participants. Ardrossan Schools (Ardrossan, St Matthews and Largs Academy) entered the national competitions combined at U16 and U18 age groups to provide a more competitive platform in this competition while playing as their own School for Conference Rugby.
Ardrossan Academy – Played 4 Fixtures at T4 Conference (U13/14 and U16) versus Ayr Academy, Garnock Academy, Girvan Academy and Irvine Royal Academy
Largs Academy – Played 4 Fixtures at T4 Conference (U13, U14 & U16) versus Auchinleck Academy, Cumnock Academy, Kyle Academy and Belmont Academy
Auchenharvie Academy – Played first fixture (U13) versus Queen Margaret
St Matthews Academy – No games played.
Arran High School – No games played, arrangements have been made for two games to be played October/November.
Ardrossan Schools – Both U16 and U18 squads are into the National Bowl QF’s awaiting their opponents.
Girls Rugby – Has been slow getting fixtures played, but Largs Academy have 20+ girls regularly training at the School, Arran High producing good numbers for training and Auchenharvie now having 5 girls signed up for SoR. Fixtures are a must for Term 2.
Summer Rugby continues in July with our annual Rugby Summer Camps. This year our 5 day Camp runs from July 10th to July 14th starting 10am till 2:30pm each day. Participants will enjoy 4 days of rugby specific skills learnt through Fun drills and games with a special event on day 5. Our fun event on day will be announced on the Monday of the Camp.
Camps are available to both boys and girls with more position specific training for the older campers. Please bring with lunch, appropriate clothing, sunblock (hopefully required) and something to drink throughout. Spaces are limited and require booking a space online via our Eventbrite page, with payment not being required until arrival on first day

On Monday, Rugby pupils from Largs Academy arrived sharpish in the morning for their days work as part of the Schools #communityday where pupils from the School would take part helping various areas/clubs/charities etc in the Largs Community. The pupils, or players as we like to call them helped our Development Officer organise the various storages spaces in the Club which have collected much rubbish over the season. They also timed it nicely that the day they chose also happened to be the same day a skip arrived at the Club for the rubbish collated from the Current #OurClub project for the Bar and Lounge area.
The pupils worked very hard for a number of hours at the Club wasting little time or effort earning their games of TartanTouch and burgers at lunch time!
Massive thank you to all the players, Largs Academy and their staff for organising such a worth while programme! Look forward to next year! https://twitter.com/ArdrossanRFC/status/866692422755127296
